How can I get the Car-Up mobile application? The Car-Up mobile app is available on Android and IOS, just search for it in the app store!
Why does Car-Up need my VIN? Car-Up uses the VIN to collect the OEM information and features of your car. It also helps us to ensure we’re working on the right car and procuring the right parts. If you don't know the VIN you can use the YEAR/MAKE/MODEL and we will add the VIN when the car gets here!
Where can I find my VIN? The VIN (also known as the Vehicle Identification Number) can be found on your insurance card, registration card, at the bottom of the driver’s side windshield or on the driver’s door jamb.
How does the Pickup and Delivery service work? It’s easy! Create the booking and make sure to select ‘Pickup My Car’, then select the date and time most convenient for you. A Car-Up driver will arrive at the scheduled appointment. Use the same process after your service is done to have your car returned. That’s it!
Where will Car-Up pickup my car? Car-Up will pickup and drop off your car from your home or work. We operate within a 8.5 mile radius of our shop. If you don’t live or work in the service zone, you will need to drop your car off yourself if you’d like to use our services.
Do I need to be present during the pickup or dropoff of my vehicle? Yes. Our driver is required to exchange the car keys when they arrive. If you are not present, we will not be able to pickup or dropoff your car.
Is there a cost to the pickup or drop off my car? Car-Up charges a flat $10 fee for picking up and dropping off your vehicle. However, we wave those fees for any repairs made over $500.
How do I know the status of my car? You will get push notifications and emails on every transaction for your service booking. These notifications include (but are not limited to) when your scheduled services are coming up, when the driver is enroute to your location, when your car arrives at the shop, when your car is being evaluated, when your estimate is ready and when your car is being returned to you.
How can I verify that the suggested repairs in my estimate are actually needed? Car-Up is committed to providing the most honest and transparent service possible! Your service writer will always share photos and videos of any issues they find with your car on the STATUS page in the booking. They’ll also explain what repairs are more serious than others so that you can make a decision that suits your current needs and budget. We will never pressure you into making any repairs that you don’t want!
How do I communicate with the shop? The preferred method of communication is the messaging module built into the STATUS page of your booking. Here you can text directly with the person handling your service. They’ll also use the STATUS page to share photos and/or videos and may recommend additional services if they find any supplemental issues. Alternatively, you can call the shop using the phone number listed on the website.
Do I have to use the Car-Up app to request service? – Yes. The Car-Up application was developed to make it as easy as possible to create a scheduled booking. We do not take service appointments by phone or email. If you are having technical difficulty with the app, you can call or email, or use the CHAT feature at the bottom of the home page.
What is a True Quote? The True Quote feature allows you to get a quote from our shop before you request service. Pricing on vehicles can vary greatly depending on the type of car you have. We can help you understand those costs before you schedule service. It’s important to note that if you don’t know what is wrong with your car, we can only estimate what the costs of diagnosis will be. Any post-diagnostic costs can only be estimated after we have evaluated the vehicle.
How accurate is the ESTIMATED COST listed in the services menu? These costs are estimated based on the type and size of your vehicle. Any costs associated with DIAGNOSTICS will be accurate. Any repair costs are ESTIMATED and a more accurate quote will be provided once our shop completes the diagnosis of your cars problems.
Can Car-Up tow my vehicle if it’s not drivable? Yes, Car-Up can have your vehicle towed from your home or work if its disabled. You can schedule this at the end of your booking by choosing the TOW option. Car-Up is not an emergency response service, so please do not use our app if you need immediate assistance.
Can I drop my vehicle off at the service center OR pick it up when service is completed? Yes, but you still need to use the Car-Up app to schedule your service. At the end of your booking, select the option to DROP YOUR VEHICLE OFF and select which date you will be leaving it. You can use our afterhours drop box if you arrive when the shop is closed. If you want to pick your vehicle up after the repair is complete you will need to come during normal business hours.
